Did you know?
Lake Tisza - originally Kiskore Water reservoir - shows a completely different picture in summer compared with the winter. Due to the necessity of controlling spring floodings the water level of the lake in winter is much lower. Even certain parts of the lakebed become visible in this period of time.
Engineers of the Kiskore Water Management Directorate usually decide to fill up the lake with fresh water in the first half of April, according to this schedule the lake shows its "summer face" to the visitors from the middle of April to the end of October each year. From that time on it provides favourable conditions for smallship and boat tours, rowing, canoeing and many other water sports and activites on the Lake.
