Visitor Regulations

Valid from 13 March 2026

The main purpose of the Lake Tisza Ecocentre is to present to the general public the natural values of Lake Tisza, the Tisza Valley and their surroundings, including the local flora and fauna. In addition to providing information, raising awareness and offering environmental education, the Ecocentre aims to offer meaningful leisure activities and recreation both for local residents and for tourists visiting the region. The Ecocentre serves the cause of nature and environmental protection and seeks to promote appreciation of wildlife and the natural environment, as well as the development and spread of responsible environmental thinking.

The Lake Tisza Ecocentre is a public institution open to visitors upon purchase of an admission ticket. The prices of the various ticket types, the services included and the opening hours are displayed at the ticket offices and at the central information desk, and are also available on the official website tiszataviokocentrum.hu, which is regarded as an official information platform.​

a. From 13 March to 2 April, opening hours are from Thursday to Sunday, 9:00–16:00 (ticket offices close at 15:00). From 3 April to 31 May, opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00 (ticket offices close at 16:00). From 1 June to 31 August, opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 9:00–18:00 (ticket offices close at 17:00). From 1 September to 1 November, opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00 (ticket offices close at 16:00).

b. Each admission ticket to the Lake Tisza Ecocentre entitles the holder to a single entry only.​

c. Visitors purchasing the Boat Package (and the All-In Package) receive a coloured wristband, which allows them to return to the Ecocentre grounds after the boat trip without having to buy a new ticket.

At the main entrance of the Ecocentre there is a pay car park operated by the local municipality for passenger cars and motorcycles. Entry and parking for buses and other heavy vehicles are prohibited even if free spaces are available. The traffic regulations of the Hungarian Highway Code (KRESZ) apply within the car park. If the car park is full, the Ecocentre is not obliged and cannot be obliged to provide additional parking spaces.

After closing time, no visitors may remain on the premises. The Lake Tisza Ecocentre accepts no responsibility for the personal safety of visitors who fail to leave the grounds after closing time.​

Minors may only stay on the Ecocentre premises when accompanied and supervised by a parent or another responsible adult. Playgrounds, the “Enchanted Aquatic World” playroom and the “Rafts’ Lake” may only be used under parental supervision. Special rules for behaviour and safety in the observation tower are displayed on site; visitors may only stay in the tower if they fully comply with these rules.​

During your visit, please pay particular attention to small children and always hold their hand when walking near areas bordered by electric fence, ropes, ribbons, barriers or bodies of water. It is dangerous and strictly forbidden to step into or bathe in the channels, ditches or ornamental ponds located in, or forming the boundary of, the leisure park.​

Moving around the Ecocentre is only permitted on foot, with the exception of staff carrying out their duties.​

Visitors must use all areas, rooms, equipment, furnishings and facilities of the Ecocentre only for their intended purpose and must protect them from damage. The Lake Tisza Ecocentre accepts no responsibility for damage resulting from improper use.​

In the event of an accident, emergency or vandalism on the premises, visitors are obliged to immediately inform the colleague on duty at the Ecocentre’s Information Desk, who will take the necessary measures; a first-aid kit is available at the Information Desk.​

In the event of an extraordinary incident or emergency, visitors must follow the instructions given by authorised members of staff.​

Visitors must observe generally accepted rules of conduct and behaviour on the Ecocentre premises and comply with all posted warning and prohibition signs.​

It is forbidden to:

Enter areas or rooms marked as “staff only” or “restricted / service area”.

Lean out over the railings of viewing terraces or the observation tower, or throw any objects from them.

Disturb the animals by frightening them, shouting, making loud noise, behaving disorderly or in any other way.

Reach into animal enclosures, aquariums or terrariums, or throw in any objects or food, except for zoo treats expressly designated and permitted by the Ecocentre.

Bring dogs, cats or other pets onto the Ecocentre premises – with the exception of appropriately trained assistance dogs with valid certification and vaccination booklet.​

Bring glass objects into the aquarium area or use flash photography there.

Smoke (including the use of electronic cigarettes) anywhere on the premises except in designated smoking areas; the use of open flames – including lighting fires – is strictly prohibited.​

The Ecocentre grounds are private property. Any person caught committing a criminal offence, infringement or act of vandalism may be approached by any member of staff in accordance with the relevant legal provisions, and the Ecocentre may initiate action by the competent authorities.​

A CCTV surveillance system operates on the Ecocentre premises; visitors are informed of this by appropriate notices before entering.​

Persons under the influence of alcohol or other substances, those whose behaviour disturbs others or causes public offence, as well as anyone who violates any provision of these Visitor Regulations or refuses to comply with them despite warning, may be excluded from visiting the Ecocentre.​

Visitors are fully liable for any damage they cause. If a visitor suffers damage as a result of violating these Visitor Regulations, the Lake Tisza Ecocentre rejects any related claims for compensation.​

These Visitor Regulations remain in force until revoked or amended.​
