Boat Trips
From the harbour of the Tisza Lake Ecocentre, small-boat excursions depart between the
beginning of April and the end of October.
The admission tickets called “Small-Boat Package” and “All-In Package” include a 45–50-
minute guided boat trip on Lake Tisza. Excursions depart every full hour from the Ecocentre’s
harbour. We kindly ask visitors to confirm the exact departure time of their boat trip at the
ticket office when purchasing their admission ticket. On particularly busy days and during
peak holiday periods, it may happen that the available capacity is fully booked and tickets sell
out; in such cases no further tickets can be issued, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
Guests arriving in wheelchairs or with prams are requested to report to the harbour at least
15–20 minutes before departure so that our staff can ensure appropriate boarding and seating
arrangements.
Each boat can accommodate a maximum of 12 passengers, therefore groups of more than 12
people will be divided between several boats. During the lake excursion, every boat is
operated by a qualified guide, who provides guests with useful information and interesting
facts along the way.
At the end of the trip, the boats return to their starting point, the Ecocentre’s harbour.
The harbour is located on the shore of Lake Tisza, next to the Ecocentre but outside its fenced
area, and can be reached on foot from the main building in approximately 4–5 minutes.
To allow guests to leave the Ecocentre and re-enter after the excursion, participants in the boat
trips receive a coloured wristband together with their admission ticket, indicating the
departure time of their programme. The wristband entitles the holder to take part in the boat
trip only at the time printed on it.
For participation in the excursion, life jackets are compulsory for children under the age of
14; for visitors over 14, life jackets are available on request.
The small-boat excursion is an outdoor programme and runs even in cloudy or rainy weather,
so depending on the conditions, warm clothing, an umbrella or a raincoat may be necessary.
The price of a pre-purchased admission ticket that includes a boat trip cannot be refunded on
the grounds of adverse weather conditions. If, at a given departure time, the boats are unable
to leave due to extreme weather (such as storms or gale-force winds) and the trip has to be
cancelled, we will make every effort to offer an alternative departure time on the same day.
Discover Lake Tisza from the water on a guided small-boat trip starting right from the
Ecocentre’s own harbour, and experience the region’s unique wildlife at close range.
